Transportation to get into the State

Air:  The capital city of the state Agartala is well connected by air with Kolkata and Guwahati. The C.A. Airport of the city is in 12 km away from Agartala in a south-east direction. There are 3 more small airport is in Khowai, Kamlpur and Kailashnagar of Agartala.

Road: The capital city, Agartala is well connected by road with Guwahati via Shillong through NH 44. Considering the proximity of Tripura to Bangladesh, it is more convenient for foreign tourist to enter Tripura via Bangladesh with an appropriate visa. The foreign nationals coming to Dhaka or other cities of Bangladesh may come to Agartala via  Akhura border check post. The journey time by road between Dhaka and Agartala is about 3 hours.
